I love travel more than pretty much anything. There are so many places I want to go, so when I see a deal and have the time to take advantage of it, I jump. As you may remember, I recently got a great price on a trip to Madrid for November.

Well this week, Scott’s Cheap Flights alerted me to a great chance to see another place on my bucket list: Mexico City. Volaris was offering $189 round trip flights from LA, and United for $215. I always prefer a full service carrier with useful mileage earnings, so I opted for the United direct flights. Thanks, Scott!

But where was I going to stay? A quick glance on my Hilton Honors app priced the Hampton Inn (2 blocks from the Plaza de la Constitution) at only 10,000 points per night, great value for a room that goes for $110 per night. With my Honors points, booking four nights gets the fifth free, lowering the relative cost to 8,000 points per night for a five night stay.

Now all I have to do is figure out what to do while I’m there! Any suggestions?
