The Royal Tour
Eureka is the largest city on California's northern coast. It is set among giant coastal redwoods, some of which you can enjoy via suspension bridge!
At the Sequoia Park Zoo, you'll get to walk this amazing canopy walkway, feeling the might of the redwoods from way up.
To see the other main natural feature of Eureka - Humboldt Bay - hop aboard the Madaket for a cruise. The ship has the smallest active bar in the state inside, and serves up some great drinks!
Humboldt Bay is home to one of the largest fishing fleets in California, the largest oyster farms, and soon a huge wind farm.
The most famous feature of Eureka is Carson Mansion, which is now a private club. The city is full of beautiful Victorian homes, but this is the pinnacle.
For a great meal, Phatsy Kline's, just off the waterfront. Try the quail egg shooters. Trust me.
