Fort Bragg's Glass Beach

The Royal Tour

Glass Beach in Fort Bragg, California, is one of the most unique beaches around. A former dump for the city from 1949 to 1967, the beach's namesake glass is actually the remnants of bottles and other trash.

Years ago, the beach was more sea glass than other pebbles, but decades of tourists taking glass home has made it less common, although a simple zoom shows a ton!

While clear is by far the most common, the sea glass - so named because it is made totally smooth by the ocean - comes in a wide variety of colors.

After exploring Glass Beach, head to Pomo Bluffs for this amazing view of the Pacific!
