Paris' Sacre Coeur

The Royal Tour

While Notre Dame is the most iconic, Sacre Coeur is the most beautiful church in Paris, France.

Construction of Sacre Coeur began in 1875, and after a brief hiatus for World War One, was dedicated in 1919.

The interior is airy, featuring a golden mosaic with 25,000 pieces that was added in 1923.

Sacre Coeur sits at the top of the hill of Montmartre. There is a funicular if you can't walk the many steps.

After your visit to the church, make sure (if able) to walk down through Montmartre, past cute theatres and cafes.
