The El Paso  Mission Trail

The Royal Tour

Presidio Chapel San Elizario is the first of three missions on the El Paso Mission Trail. It is notable for its bright interior painting.

Second is Socorro Mission. While it was originally built in the 1700s, the current mission dates to 1840, as the original was destroyed by an 1829 flood. Note the amazing wooden beams.

Finally you'll reach Ysleta Mission, notable for its silver domed tower. Ysleta was once the most important city in western Texas, before being bypassed by the railroad in favor of El Paso itself.
