The Library of Congress is one of the most impressive buildings in Washington DC.

The Great Hall is the interior highlight of your visit, which needs advance reservations, although it is free.

After the original Library of Congress was burned down in the War of 1812, Thomas Jefferson donated his personal collection to reestablish it. That collection is housed as a whole exhibit.

Even side hallways in the building are stunning!

Without permission to enter, the central reading room is only visible through a window from the top floor.
