The Royal Tour
Curacao is a Dutch island in the Caribbean. Its capital, Willemstad, is a UNESCO world heritage site famous for the colorful buildings of the Punda district.
This is the Queen Emma Bridge. It opens up (it is opening in this photo) by swinging via two boat motors. Walking across is always fun, as it sways with the tide on its pontoon base.
As with every Caribbean island, Curacao has amazing beaches. You will need a car to access the best ones, as they are mostly outside of Willemstad.
Shete Boka National Park is famous for the splashes of the waves into rock crevasses.
If you've heard of Curacao before, chances are it is for Blue Curacao, an orange liqueur made here. Visit Landhuis Chobolobo in Willemstad for the original. You can even learn to make your own signature cocktail!
Curacao even has its own flocks of flamingos!
